Well I only fired 2 rounds, at only 100 yards, but it was a blast! I hit the upper left side of the bulls eye (It was a solid hit tho) then the second shot went through the same hole, only it opened the hole to about .75" as the shot hit the center of the 1" bulls eye. It was awesome!
I dont know the brand of the rifle, but i know* it came from Flordia and cost about $3000 and is a single shot bolt action.
I just might have to get me one next summer! Fun stuff!
Partly in defiance of the impending CA .50BMG ban, I also am purchasing one, via a PPT. The retarded California 10 day waiting period starts today. I am curious as to what your impression of the recoil was? Comparible to say a 12g? I once shot a Weatherby (300 or stronger) and I have to say, the kick was more than I cared for. I will also need to choose a scope for the rifle. Oh, it's a Barrett M95 magazine-fed bolt action .50BMG.

Honestly, I didnt find the recoil a problem at all. Like everyone says, the recoil is a push moreso than a kick. The muzzle blast was quite an impression. I havent shot alot of high powered rifles IMO, but i havent found a truly punishing round yet. 3" slugs out of an 870 have a good kick to them, I need to get another pump shotgun (traded for a Marlin 1985GS) and have a session with slugs.

Oh well...tried to attach an MPG but it didn't work, must have been too big.....sorry
