Is it possible to now get hi-cap mags for the full size HK .45? If so how much do they run? Also, what would be a fair used price for such a gun? Here is the situation. My brother has a blued full size USP that he needs to sell. Since the controls are on the right side, I am assuming it is a Variant 1. The pistol shows a little bit of wear and has Trijicon night sights but the front site has lost its glow. Also, he has one 10 rnd mag, the case and manual. What should I offer to him? Since he is my bro I don't want to rob him.

The mags alone are something like $56 at Topglock, when I ordered them 2 weeks ago.

For an EXCELLENT price on a gun-mag combo, see the "SE PA: H&K USP .45 Fullsize with 2 new factory hicaps" thread in the Firearm Listings forum.

Why are they that high even after the sunset? Will the price come down at all?

IMO: supply and demand. Those were rare guns to begin with.

Will the price come down at all?

Probably, in the long run, assuming the gun itself is popular. Depends on the pent-up demand, if any, for those mags.

HK is expensive. 10 rounders were $45, then they had a price increase to $55 early this year. So anything in the $50s is the standard price.

Another reason for me not to own another H&K USP. One in my collection is enough.

the magazines are engineered in germany to be of the highest quality. do not question why they are $35 more than glock magazines

If the controls R on the right handside, this is atleatleast a Variant 2. Made for left handers.

On H&K pricing.
The theory that sounds most plausible to me is that they R outfitters to LE & Military throughout the world. Civillian sales R pure gravy. i.e. the 2 tone USP's; instead of lowering the price a little (to bump up sales), they discontinue certain models that haven't sold well in the US. I believe so far, the 2 tone 9mm & .45 fullsize R no longer imported into the US. But they R still sold else where.
I can't C a reason for the mag prices to go down. I'm even a little concerned about the unmarked hicaps availability. So I purchased some LEO stamped mags, NIW.

I wrote wrong info, the controls are on the left side of the pistol.

I agree, even the 8 round mags for my P7M8 go for around $65.

I will have my USP 45 Tactical out of lay-away in a few weeks and I will end up buying a few Standard (Hi-cap) mags whatever they cost, the bad thing is HK knows it. ;g

$45 seems like a pretty good deal, considering what they are selling for other places. I would appreciate it if you could let me know where they had them for that price. If they still have some, I might pick up one or two. Thanks.

If they don't have HK stamped on them, They might be Pro-Mag. There's a guy out of the W. Coast on GB that sells the Promags as OEM. His auctions start @ 2 for $50.

THEY AREN'T HI CAPS!! The 12 rounders are STANDARD CAPACITY magazines and the 10 rounders are REDUCED CAPACITY!!

As for where you can get em, I've seen em floating around the Internet several places for around $55. Seems a little steep for me and I am hoping they drop down to at leasr $40...

Just bought four 12 round mags for my new usp 45 with 5.5 lb lem trigger. bought each mag for $43 with finger extension.
Got them locally at a shop called Discount Firearms. They are a H&K dealer. There web site is www.discountfirearms.net, but it has been down for a couple weeks. Their phone # is 1-702-567-1158.
Hope it helps, and glad there is finally a real forum on this site!!
