I've seen this before and my reaction is: If my partner ever did that while I was cuffing someone, I'd just finish cuffing then I'd belt her just about as hard as I could right across the kisser! Maybe she'd remember to keep her damn finger off the trigger until she's ready to fire. Stupid. Kind of thing that should have gotten her desk duty for the rest of her life (although I'd support terminating her).

Is that a Beretta? Anyone know what action was taken against her?

Her partner could have been a goner now!! :(
Where did all that training go?
I am told she was fired from the department afterwards. You'll notice that it's as her arm extends at the elbow, that her index finger reactively flexes....

Oh really, you'd belt her across the face with a camera rolling and all?? You'd get fired too, probably prosecuted for assault.

This is not that uncommon. There is another video of a slew of officers chasing a knife weilding BG. As he is swarmed and thrown to the ground, a male officer runs up with an MP-5 and shoots one into the ground next to the BG's head. It was explained that the guy being held down by several officers was being rambunctious and thus our guy had to fire a warning shot near his head - hmmmm?
Wonder if that guy was fired also. Same thing, finger on the trigger in a stress situation - bang.

Does LVPD use DA/SA or DAO beretta's? Not that it makes a difference as to weather or not it was negligence.

Not trying to be an ass, but the word I got (from a friend that works at LVMPD) is that the chick is still on the job.

I wouldn't want to hang around anywhere near her ;P
Ever notice that when the SHTF it's the male cops who are doing all the physical stuff, while the females are mostly just running around in little circles? ;Q

Not always V.
Around here there is a female DPS Trouper, good looking, slim, 6 ft tall, and I can tell you she can shoot and handle herself. Back in collage there was a female black belt that taught one of Chu's classes. She was in the Marine Corps reserve and an electrician by trade. She was NOT fat, or lazy, or dumb, or timid. She ran the class like a DI in that very same Corps. And she was rough in the ring to boot. She took no **** from anyone and no one even needed to back her up if challenged. In fact, if someone was that stupid to try, we would have just sat back and watched some poor guy get his comeuppance.
Sure, I've seen a pretty fair number of female cops that should not be in uniform, same goes for the military. But, I've seen some that outclass the males. I judge people as I see them, one at a time. That keeps me from underestimating those I meet.

Good job she was a poor shot as well as a sloppy gun handler. Prisoners shot whilst restrained on the ground are hard to explain away.
I love the way she puts her gun away like she figures she didn't need it anyways.
Finger off the trigger and it doesn't go off, pretty simple.

Ah, my tax dollars at work!
When I see cops/military do a kick butt job I think they spent my tax dollars. When I see something like that I think they wasted my tax dollars.
Now I have to wonder, is she OK with civilian CCW? Humm.

This has to be the dumbest comment I've heard yet.

According to a Las Vegas Metro cop I discussed the incident with last night, she is still on the job.

That sure brings out mixed feelings in me. Could be that is one cop that will NEVER have an ND again. Or might be slow to learn.
