Anyone have suggestions?

Wanted, cheap solution with php, sql, *ux, etc.

Also, I want a host that doesn't mind the occasional "pin-up" or 10...

right now I'm paying 19.99 for 250Mb/10Gb...

I'm quite happy with my webhost. I pay $89.99 (price was raised to 99.99 for new subscribers) per year for 5000mb of storage and 100GB of transfer per month.

Last month I transfered over 170 gigs of data, and because their bandwidth meter doesnt seem to count subdomains, they didnt even have a clue ;f

AllanC reccomended them also at the "other" place...

He said he's been there going on 2 years.

I like their TOS and features and pricing...

I'm just waiting to hear from one other company and my current place to see if they'll change...

Thanks!!

crystaltech.com, excellent, best all around host I have used, however, I am not sure about an occasional "pin-up"

my husband has his side business site hosted here..

http://www.1and1.com

he is an IT professional himself and looked at several sites before chosing 1and1. he's only been with them for a couple of months but has been very satisified. :)

About a year and a half. They had some problems in the beginning, but recently I think the entire datacenter was moved to a new location, and since then I have had no problems at all.

I was directed to this forum last night WebHostingTalk.com and many people were talking smack. Several people were defending them.... Over all I think it was a site that was pretty hostile towards them, after all they banned the people that worked there...

I'd trust someone who I have at least interacted with for over a year to people I don't know...

Thanks!

Oh yeah... what are you running if anything, there CMS, gallery....

Sorry...

I got the Business plan...

Not sure what server I'm on... It appears that they're jacked right now....

I can't even ping their DNS server or mine...

I'm not very pleased with that...

After all of the pissing I heard about them I figured it was just some bitter people. I sure hope this is not the standard they plan on offering...

:(

UPDATE....

Sorry, I forgot....

I sent then an email and it was fixed right away. although they didn't tell me what the problem was... I know it was a DNS problem....

Anyway, very prompt, nice and I let them know that if it happens again I'm out...

They are indeed very quick at responding.

Do you have your domain pointed at their DNS servers, or some elses?

If you couldnt ping either their DNS server, or yours, it sounds to me like something else may have been at work.

I'm pointed at theirs. I found this neat little web page that queries all the major dns servers and I had a not listed. So, it was like their dns just went poop.... But I could get to their web site...

Like I said, it'd be great if the gave me a resolution...

I switched to ICDSOFT last year, and have been VERY pleased.

- $5 per month
- 333 MB storage
- 5 GB transfer per month
- 5 free subdomains
- 1 MSQL database
- 2 domains can be parked
- 6 FTP sub accounts
- PERL, Python, Ruby and TCL
- SPAM protection
- SSL
- SSI
- 24 hour support (though it's all conducted via email, it's reliable)
- Web site statistics
- etc.

I plan to use them again next year.

Good Luck!
