View Full Version : Best Holster for USPc 40?
I want something good but not incredible expensive... one for IWB (inside waist band) carry and one for IDPA matches. Any suggestions?
While we're at it, what ammo does this gun tend to be accurate/unaccurate with?
Thanks,
Dave
Alright, nobody has taken a stab so I will.
I don't know what the best is because I've only tried two IWB holsters.
My first IWB holster was a Comp-Tac C-T.A.C. for 70 bucks. It is kydex, and I really like the holster. It does stab at my hip though.
I then bought a used leather IWB from a fellow GTer. This is a Don Hume PCCH. http://www.gunnersalley.com/product/PCCH
I really love the Don Hume PCCH. I got it for 35 dollars used (but pretty much new). They can be had for about 42 dollars brand new.
These are great quality, and relatively cheap. This is the holster I wear a lot. I really like the style of the CTAC, but I'm just a leather man. I like the soft, flexible leather inside my waistband.
Edit: I like Remington Golden Sabers 165gr., but I wouldn't mind carrying Gold Dots either.
I carry in a blade-tech UCH IWB holster. I love the thing, but would have gone with the regular IWB (the UCH is tucakble, but the lump in the belt sticks out on my skinny frame) to make the holster 1/4" thinner.
But I love my blade tech. I got tired of my last leather Galco holster, that would pinch shut wen the gun was drawn. Kydex won't collapse, and the gun glides out of the holster like it's on bearings, yet stays put the rest of the time. The UCH is on their home page, www.blade-tech.com

Carry comfortably in a Blade-Tech IWB and a Aker 168-A belt holster. For a blet holster, the Aker carries very tight to body for nice CCW concealment.
Got the Blade-Tech used for $30 from this board (&60 new) and the Aker new for $8 from eBay (usually $60 new). Also have a Del Fatti belt holster ($40 used) I like a lot, but it prints more than the Aker. Lastly, have an Uncle Mikes paddle that carries well, but prints more than the Aker.
If I did IDPA, I'd use the Uncle Mike's paddle or Del Fatti as they keep the gun further out from the waist to aid in faster draw.
For ammo: Range use = anything. For CCW carry Golder Sabre 165gr.
The tired & true, Uncle Mikes for cost, then theres Fin design, Blade tech, DeSantis and side armour, they're good and moderate price. These are Kydex material with leather choices. If you got some cash to spend try Kramer leathers.
Try not to go too cheap, this will hurt you in the long run when you have a dozen holsters you tried and didn't like. Good luck
