Almost every shooting incident people on GT hear enough information about they like to break down and analyze, try to figure out what worked for the people involved, what they did wrong, what they did right. There is even more "what if" type discusions though, with people coming up with scenerios that range from elaborate to very simple, just to have somethign to think about.
Well I thought there are quite a few scenerios such as this in movies. Not James Bond or Rambo or Die Hard or anything remotely similar, but a few movies such as Heat or Man on Fire. I don't mean to sound stupid, but couldn't it help you visualize some scenerios?
A while ago someone started a thread about what he should do if someone was trying to kidnap his daughter. In Man Fire he had to deal with a kidnapping. Could he have acted differantly? In Heat sveral officers are shot trying to stop bank robbers. Could they have responded differantly?
I'm not an expert so I'm asking if anyone thinks that studying fictional events has any merit? No, I'm not some wannabe commando who gets all his knowledge watching movies, but sometimes you see something that makes you think.
