My comp prompted me to install windows updates

and since I have installed them, I keep getting a pop up window with this message...

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience."

and then at the bottom there are two buttons: Send Error Report or Don't send.

when I try to visit various sites. One of them being my online bank site and the other a gun site. But it has done it for a few random ones as well. Any ideas? I was hoping that maybe you guys could let me know what is causing it. I am running Windows XP Home Edition...if you need more info let me know. Thanks in advance.

you can always role back your XP config.

Thanks for the warning. I've been getting a "new updates avialable" notice for about a week. I always hold off on the install until I see if others are having problems,

Anyway, I removed XP service pack 2 from my comp today, and I'm not having any more problems.

Another, better option would be to avoid using IE altogether... (http://www.mozilla.org/)
