View Full Version : Took my Tech exam.... and passed!
Took my test Thursday night and passed... now waiting on the call sign. Takes about a week I'm told.
My gratitude goes to Hal, who hooked me up with a exam session in my area. Only had to drive 45 minutes instead of two plus hours.
Congratulations and welcome to the brotherhood. Now don't stop there. There are a lot of friends to make here and in countries around the world. Join us.
Caddyshack, again congratulations on passing the exam. I'm glad I could hook you up with a testing site. Sorry about the long delay though. That hasn't happened in my ten years of giving these exams. When I do get my mobile rig installed in the new vehicle I'll be monitoring 145.23- , It's toned and I can't remember the freq. It's either 108 or 118. I'll be listening for you.

Great job. Fun hobby and a lot of stuff to learn and people to meet.
Been a ham for many years and I still remember what seemed like forever for my ham ticket to come in the mail. Take care and congrats again.
Don't forget that you can check QRZ.COM and look for the newly issued license listings. As soon as you find your name and call listed you can go on the air.
If you took the exam on Thursday, and the examiner team is on the ball, you could be listed early this week.
Congrats! Catch me on 146.52. KJ4QJ
Wow - only a week these days!?!
I was the V.E. team liaison from 1991 until 2000. It took 4 to 6 weeks (at best) for a license or upgrade to be processed then. :)
Also, "Caddyshack" is still one of my favorite movies.
So good to hear of your new license. You will have a lifetime of enjoyment with ham radio.
Don't wait too long to get your General. You will really have a good time with HF as well as VHF. In the meantime, burn up the airwaves above 50MHz.
Congrats on the new ticket!
