View Full Version : Cheapest way to get a .50 in CA
I really want a 50. I live in Cali and I dont have a lot of money. Is there any way I can just buy a receiver and register that? If so, what would be the cheapest route to go? I saw the Cobb sticky but is there any way to get a decent receiver for under $3000? Im just looking for a single-shot bolt action that is pretty decent and accurate but doesnt cost a whole lot to buy the part that needs to be registered. I know these things are expensive, but I dont mind spending more later as long as I can get it registered before the ban with what little money I have. Also, the Cobb may be an option, but how much more would it be for the complete upper receiver?

Probably one of the rifles (or uppers) that this fellow sells: http://www.watsonsweapons.com . I believe his single-shot upper will work on the Cali-legal FAB-10, but he also does complete bolt-action rifles.

You can get a BFG receiver for $1000 www.serbu.com or a Viper receiver for $300 www.bluegrassarmory.com and lastly a Ferret 50 lower for $300 also www.ferret50.com
I think State Arms might be offering their receiver for $600 but you'll have to check with them www.statearms.com
