View Full Version : Anyone wish they could have owned a Moog modular?
Well, me boyos, now you can.
(or a reasonable facsimilie thereof)
When my house sells, I'm picking up a 44-module and 22-module rack, keyboard controller and keyboard garage.
Synthesizers.com makes a fine instrument. He copied much of the circuitry directly from the original Moog modules, and uses as many of the same electronics to assure that great Moog character.
It's a side business for the owner, and a lobor of love. You won't be dissatisfied!
PS: When I lived in Buffalo, I used to go to a flea market that was located at the same site as the old Moog plant. I used to park in the back, and many times next to this old metal case that sat ouside. My kids always wanted to go see what was inside, but I pulled them away. Years later, I found out that Keith Emerson had shipped his Monster Moog there, and when they closed up shop, they couldn't contact him, so they just stuck it out back. Had I only opened that thing, his beast would have immediately been brought to my house. I had subsequently met Keith, and related this story to him, assuring him that had I gotten it, I would have returned it to him the moment I knew it was his, which wasn't too hard to figure out, considering that the custom Sample and Hold module in it has his name silkscreened on it. He loved that tale, and tells people about it to this day.
