Got the slide for my NRM series model 80 back from Colt yesterday.
The front site had fallen off. On the advice of my local gunsmith, I sent the slide back to Colt. They replaced the front site free of charge. While it was there I had them install a Bomar adjustable rear site.
Can't wait till Saturday so I can take it to the range.

Out the the range today. 100 rounds of Winchester White box.
I went out to fuction fire it. The sites are pretty much spot on, they need a little adjustment. But they stayed on-
Afterwards I tried something today I normally do not do. I shot from the hip. I used full Sams Cola cans as targets. I was surprised I could hit a pop can from 10 yards from the hip with my .45. I walked the rounds up to it, adjusted and generally by the end of the mag hit and exploded the foul liquid Wally World calls a Cola drink. Fun stuff

Cool, what was the turnaround time on the slide?

I learned my shooting in the forest. Mostly pine cones and sticks and stuff, like old cans and such.

I love point shooting, and got knocked a bit for it, but it sure is fun, isn't it?

My only gun with rear adjustables was my first gun, and it took me about a thousand rounds before I was confident enough to think the sights were off and it was not me;f

Gotta lova Colt! Have a Colt and a Smile ! ;a

About 3 weeks all together.

Rob 96. I am embarrased to say. But they do have a tiny Prancing Colt on the side of the sight:)

Norton, in my best Ralph Kramden voice, don't be embarassed too say. I have two Colt 1991A1s, one of which I am considering to send to Colt, for some mods. Benefits us to know what is being charged.

Well, if you gotta know.
$175. They also adjusted my extractor, in addition to replacing the front sight and the BoMar

Actually that doesn't seem bad. Plus the fact that all work is covered by their warranty.
