percussion muzzleloader carry?

Similar to another post I just read...
When hunting with a muzzleloader, is it best to be at half cock with or without a cap on the nipple? I haven't been in the field with mine yet, and I was wondering what the proper/safe method is. Thanks

Cap on, hammer at half cock.

i'll present the other side, half cock, no cap.. never until your ready to shoot.. about the only time i have a cap on is if im on the ground sitting.. otherwise i cap just before shooting.

I'm sure this subject has many opinions and i'll say you should carry it the way you feel most comfortable.. my way has some drawbacks but ultimately i think it's safer..
