Does anyone make a stock "Commander" type pistol besides Colt? I'd buy a SA mil-spec in Commander guise if it were offered.

SA and Kimber make a Commander type pistol but they have a 4" barrel, rather that a true Commander 4 1/4" barrel. The difference may not bother you (it bothers the crap out of me).

S&W, Part Ordnance, Ed Brown, Les Baer and others I can't think of at the moment, make a true 4 1/4" Commander clone.

Of course, only Colt makes a true Commander.

See my nearly-the-first-1911-club post called "Commanders" and you'll see every variant of Commander size out there in that post. :)

Almost commander size. Champions have a 4 inch tube, colt, norinco, and others have a 4.25 inch tube, 4.25 is the true commander length. Not that the Champion is a bad gun, I have 2, they are great shooting guns.

Kimber and Dan Wesson are the only ones I would consider.
