Who do you know that does good 1911 work such as, reliability packages, refinishing and customization. I want someone that doesn't take forever. Some of you guys are young and can wait months to get your pistol back.
I may not have that long. I want to get it back before I have to go to the old folks home at least.
I also want to get my 1911 refinished in a shiney polished blue. Is the term for that "polished blue" or what is it?
thanks,

Good work takes time, promotes loyalty and referrals to the 'smith. That means longer waiting time.
DIY?
If you really want a high gloss blue, consider buffing it yourself, then send it off for the hot blue to reduce turn around.
NoGo is right. I would also add that the type of finish you desire is (due to the polishing required) one of the most time-consuming & expensive available.
I think you'd be better advised to look into black chrome plating or some similar finish which can be "slapped on" with much less surface preparation required and results in a nice, glossy surface.

Highly polished blue ( as stated in this thread ) is a very high cost finish because of the initial metal work polishing that must be done in prep before the blue is applied.
