Was out shooting with some friends, they had their 308s, and we were shooting some steel at 600 yards or so. You could clearly hear the PINGS! when the 308s hit steel. I was blasting away with my AR-50, and you heard nothing, and could see the rounds hitting the berm behind the target. They thought I was missing, and were offering advice (high, low, 1 mil, etc) I just laughed and told them I was dead-on and the rounds were going right through the steel, so there was little noise. They laughed at me. During cease fire we go down to take a look, and there are a bunch of 1/2 inch holes in a respectably tight pattern right in the middle of the steel. I was so smug....
