I never buy used parts, especially when it comes to parts that have 3 to 5 year warranties with a retail receipt like monitors, CPU's, vid cards ect.

Here on Newegg are some decently-priced CRT 21" monitors... (http://www.newegg.com/app/searchProductResult.asp?Submit=Go&Range=&YahooID=12&DEPA=0&bop=and&order=PRICED&InnerCata=19) in the $375 price range.

You can never go wrong with

Viewsonic
Mitsubishi
Sony

I have a Silicon Graphics 21" monitor and the tube is made by sony.

I run it at 1280x1024 and it is very nice. The refresh rate is very high so I don't get eye fatigue. I also run my games at that resolution

My suggestion is to see if you can find a store that carries those models. It's better to see the monitors in action than to look at pretty photoshop pictures of them.

Remeber you get what you pay for in these larger models.

And these suckers are HEAVY!!! you better have a good sturdy desk.
Solid Maple will do or steel.
