As per PCWorld (http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,118520,00.asp).

What do you guys think? Its funny because doing my own pre-purchase "research" I came up with the ViewSonic 912 as a strong potential. Anything else you would recommend?

I have the HP F1903 and I haven't seen a monitor with a better picture - LCD, CRT, or otherwise.

Interesting, PC World rated the HP F1903 as the worst:

I haven't seriously tested any of them, so have no opinion. What is interesting to me, though, is that a 17 inch screen in a laptop can have a fabulous 1440x1024 pixels resolution and look brilliant, while standalone 19" monitors tend to be around 1280x1024 and look much worse. Weird.

the 1280x1024 resolution does bother me. I dont understand why they are so slow to improve this. I remember looking at LCDs last year [I ended up with a new CRT]and the only thing that has changed are the response times. Which is good. But I dont understand why its so hard for LCD's to break 1280x1024. ;u

I have to say that I am pretty happy with the pair of LG L1920Ps that I recently got. The two blend together and color match pretty well.

I picked this model because the frame was the dark gray color, and it doesn't bother me as much as another color when dragging windows from one monitor to another.

Get a pair. You will never go back to a single monitor. You don't realize how cramped you are on one display until you have two. It's kinda like going from dialup to cable.

Calling it the worst is being a little harsh. It's number ten of the top ten. There are more than ten different 19" LCD monitors in production right now.
