When I got help on the specs for my computer I just built, yall said not to go cheap on the case and power supply. And I did anyway to keep the upfront cost down.. Sure enough one month in and yesterday in the middle of copying a DVD the thing went out on me.

So.. Off to the store in search of an Antec power supply. It was $60 for just the 350 watt power supply or $101 for the 400 watt. Yikes!

Got to looking around and I notice there is an Antec case with the 350 watt power supply for only $75!! I grabbed it up. Here (http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=92650) is the specs for it. I didnt know it when I bought it, but reading the website it says it was designed for the prescott, which is what I have.

So I guess that answers my question of whether or not the 350watt power supply is enough for my comp.

P4 3.2 prescott
dvdrw
dvdrom
512mb
200gig hdd

Ive never seen my comp have such low temps. Its in the 20's right now. But kinda noisy..The fan on the side whines for some reason....

Anyway, thats my story.

My "480watt" power supply in my $45 case bit the dust after about a month as well. I paid $50 for a 350 watt Dynex brand PSU as a replacement. Never again....

I paid a little less than $200 for this...

This.....

And a couple of these 120mm's.

I could have spent less, but then I'd be less happy, less satisfied that I spent wisely, and less sure that this rig will stand the test of time.

And besides...on what would I have spent the $50 I might have saved had I skimped on the essentials? Another game to play on a weakened, underpowered, overheated system?!

That would have been a sacrilege at least, and an utter disaster at worst.

Thank goodness I needn't worry about such things.

Good luck,
