I recently had the chance to shoot some sub-sonic .50bmg at the FL SWAT round up with a CAN on it and boy let me tell you it was fun. No recoil and quiet like a 9mm suppressed. Cobb Mfg Inc. (http://www.cobb50.com) :)

Realistically, what is it good for?

BTW, This is coming from a guy who has a Glock21 suppressed SBR that I have suppered (45ACP and 45SUPER). It sounds like a lot of fun shooting a 50bmg suppressed and then 50BMG suppressed subsonic.

isn't .50 BMG something like 1.25 per shot ? seems expensive for "plinking"

I'd like to have it if I had thousands to burn.
