Next gun show?

Does anyone know the date and locale of the next gun show? I'm from Baton Rouge but there is usually a show within 50 miles every week or two. Thanks in advance.

This is out of your territory, but there are two pretty good (and many sorry) gun shows in Shreveport/Bossier each year.

The two good ones are hosted by the ArkLaTex Gun Collectors Assoc. and held at Expo Hall at 400 Clyde Fant Parkway (near the S'port casinos).

One is in the spring (March 19 & 20) and the other is in the fall (Sept. 17 & 18), per the flyer I recently picked up. $5 entry fee; park at the casino garage for free.

How does one get a sticky posted? Do we beg the moderator? Also, with Lamar Dixon on the blocks for sale, I wonder if the gun shows will still be there.

That list has lots of "Great Southern" shows, but I know there are other shows that hit this area, such as the two I mentioned above (ArkLaTex Gun Collectors Assoc.), that are not on that list.

The other shows must not sign up for listing on the site you found.

It is a good idea to post all known LA shows. Does anyone else have a list of LA shows other than the ones mentioned above?

Maybe we can put our resources together and compile a comprehensive list for all LA shows.

By the way Remander, if you get an update on the AkLaTex shows or any other northern La shows, please post them here and everyone and myself will love you. Great Southern Gun and Knife show kinda has a monopoly down here. If I find any other Gun shows here in La, I'll post away.

Thanks Cyriaque. This show was so poorly advertised that I'd of missed it if you hadn't posted or Troy hadn't mentioned it to me. I didn't see an ad in the paper or one TV commercial (although I don't watch a lot of TV).

You're welcome. It was a small show and poorly attended. An observation-there was a rather large group of young men from the north Baton Rouge area that were particularly interested in converting their SKS to 30 round mags. Also were looking at inexpensive .45s. Hmmm.....

Cant' speak for any else, but I made out great. Sold lots of mags, DVD's, three Glocks and one of my Colt LEO AR's.

I always have good luck at the Smellmount show:)

I am not a member of the group, but I will say that these shows are usually the best shows of the year in the Shreveport-Bossier area, with the fall show usually slightly better.

There is one in Shreveport (civic center at 600 Clyde Fant Pkwy) this weekend (July 1 & 2).

They had a "his and hers" show last weekend in S'port at the new convention center. Guns on one side and jewelry and home stuff on the other. Did not see a lot of ads for the show, and the crowd was pretty thin when I went Saturday afternoon. The "hers" side had very few people shopping.

It may be disappointing to drive that far. The Bossier shows tend to be a bit weak, though I don't know what you are used to seeing in other places. I usually cruise through the whole thing in under an hour.

The again, even the Shreveport shows are hit or miss. Some are decent; others are just ho hum. You never can tell.

Thanks. I haven't been to a show since April, and that was in NC. I'll probably make the drive anyways--it will give me a good excuse to stop at Bass Pro Shops while I'm up there.;)

Went to the gun show in Gonzales on Saturday. It was packed. Obama has done wonders for the gun industry. Bought a few guns myself. Thought I'd come home and order some mags for these guns. High capacity mags all on back order. :shocked: Should of gotten them while I was there.

Bought a G19 at that show on Saturday. I knew it was going to be crowded when I saw the line wrapped around the building when we got there. Last year at the same show, we walked right in.

City "leaders" and law enforcement in NOLA do not respect the 2nd Amendment, from what I've heard and read (hell, just look at what they did Post-Katrina). I've read that NOLA cops have been known to confiscate firearms during routine traffic stops if the driver did not have documentation (i.e. a receipt) showing that the firearm in their possession was theirs. Thankfully, I don't live in NOLA proper (been in Kenner since I was 4), but I do work in the city and, therefore, keep copies of my firearm receipts in my briefcase, just incase. Anyway, I'm glad they have the shows here in Kenner, because as I said, that's where I live.

The Barak Shriners will host a Gun Show Oct 10 & 11 in their facility. It will be their first show in 12 years and as I remember it holds about 150 tables. The Barak Temple building is located on the Frontage Road on the south side of I-20 at the Milhaven Rd exit. Go past Sams Club and it will be down a ways on the right.

Dec 12 & 13 will only have one show at the Heyman Center, not the two that is still listed on gunshow-usa.com The Blackham Colliseum show was cancelled I was told because of frozen rink for an Ice Show that has been booked.
