I borrowed a 228 from a buddy this has got to be the most accurate and sweet shooting gun there is. It fit my hand like a glove.
I'm now looking for one myself.

J.P. 12-31-2004, 14:42 I love my 228 and have carried it daily for years but I'm carrying one of my G19s currently. I shoot the 228 better but they just can't take the abuse a Glock can and they are harder to work on in the field. Still,a very nice gun and my favorite SIG. Try a 225 next! flyboy 1 12-31-2004, 23:03 ... WERA49 01-01-2005, 05:10 The Dealer Warehouse, www.thedealerwarehouse.com had used P228's for $299. I don't know if they still have them. I hope that helps. Karaya1 01-08-2005, 13:17 i have no clue what you guys are saying about the g19 requiring less matenance. Sure, the p228 will show a lot more holster wear, but it is just as durable as a g19 and imo more reliable. Matenance for the sig is a simple cleaning after a range trip, same as a glock. If i had to take a 228 vs a g19/17 in a situation where i would have no cleaning supplies availible for an extended period of time, i would take the 228 without hesitation. There is nothing a g19 does better than a 228. flyboy 1 01-11-2005, 03:57 ... Peevee 01-21-2005, 20:26 Well I finally got my 228. I'm like a kid with a new toy now. OH YEAH ;z G33 01-21-2005, 21:55 ^c JoeG19 01-22-2005, 13:41 I hope I have a 228 in the future. My SigPro2009 sold me on them. - 'ole joe  J.P. 01-22-2005, 14:24 Originally posted by Karaya1 i have no clue what you guys are saying about the g19 requiring less matenance. There is nothing a g19 does better than a 228. No problem with what you are saying,I just hate cleaning guns. A g19 *DOES* resist rust better than a 228.If I treated my SIG like my G19s,it would be a beat up hunk of chipped aluminum with a rusted shut slide. Maybe overstating it,but still... J.P. 01-23-2005, 08:50 On the otherhand, looking at the way I shot yesterday's match,I'd probably be better off shooting the 228 from now on.;Q The patriot 01-23-2005, 10:17 I think all of those $299 sigs are gone. From what I was told, they looked like they had 50K rounds through them. Ridden hard and put away wet.;g I saw some in CDNN for a little more. Some of them are also "certified pre owned". You have to ask. I got one of the hand picked with night sights and I found out through Sig it was a CPO. Eric TLHelmer 01-24-2005, 16:10 I treat my Sigs like babies. Glocks can go anywhere and be treated in a less dainty manner. The Glocks are my summer carry due to their rust resistance. All of them are cleaned frequently and after every range trip. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
