Speaking of DD214's......

I was wondering if anyone has had to update/change info on a DD214.

Like a paperwork hating soldier, I missed that they forgot one of my awards. I was rushed through due to a medical chapter and didn't have all my files on hand.

Is is worth the trouble to get it changed. I heard that it is like finding your shot records on a predeployment check (nearly impossible ;f )

I had to get my DD214 updated with a missing award. It took about a year, but one day I went to the mailbox and found my DD215 sitting in there. For myself, part of the reason for the delay was that my records hadn't made it to St. Louis yet since it was fairly soon after my discharge.

I have been out for 5 yrs this Feb.

They left out an ArCom on mine too, but so what? It's not worth the hassle for me to try to correct the DD214.

Had to ammend mine last year,took about 4 months,and recieved the 215 form along with the checklist that says have to buy because foreign gov. issue,also G.C.. Got the other stuff from medals of america.;)
