whats the coldest hunting that you ever did and whats the hottest? details/locations.

I was just talking to a friend of mine that just got back from U.P Michigan and they where fishing ( not really hunting ) on a private pond near land O lakes and hunting near calumet. The weather was pretty cold. Upper teens to single digits overnight. They are happy to be back in sunny Fort Pierce Fl where the temps are in the high 70s low 80s.

coldest was 16 degrees f
and the warmest was about 75 degree f

i like colder weather because you dont lay down as much scent but you have to wear heavier clothes

in warmer weather i sweat like a fat bastard while carrying in , setting up and climbing. plus i attract mosquitos from miles around.

Not sure what the coldest was. A lot of days back in OH in the single digits. The coldest out here in AZ was probably no colder than 20deg. Hottest is somewhere around the 100deg mark. When it gets much over 100deg nothing is out but the ants and even they look at you funny for being there.

I hunt caribou on the North Slope of Alaska regularly. Several years ago I got two caribou when it was a measured 60 below. It was so cold the knife would not cut because it kept balling up with frozen blood. I had to keep putting it (and my hands) in the cavity to thaw them out. When it is this cold knives break real easy!

I have been antelope hunting when the reported high temperature for the day was -32F and the overnight low was -55F. The only stuff that did not freeze solid was in the fridge. We barely got the truck started after warming up two batteries and hooking them together. The rifles had a very quiet "pop" when we fired them. The antelope would not run, you could walk right up to them. Also antelope hunting when the temperature was 105F.

-34 below for me. I love shooting when it is that cold. Hotest was probably bowhunting at at 85. I hate it when it is that hot, you sweat, you stink, if you have face paint, it runs. It's just miserable. I don't even go bowhunting for the first two weeks for that very reason.

Coldest was probably -10. Doubt I've bothered to go out if less than that. Dress warm, and don't sit for very long.

Typical "cold" for hunting is probably 20. Dress warm, be prepared to sit for 4 hours.

Warmest was probably 75. Most likely early bow season. Normally it would be around 50 to 60 for the high around the start of the season. I don't like it when it is warm enough for the skeeters to be active.

Ideal weather is probably 40.
