View Full Version : Just finished my convert to .357
I finished converting my 23 to 32......
-Glock 32 Barrel (Factory)
-1 .357 32 mag/2 .357 31 mags (LE marked standard caps)
-3.5# connector & NY1 trigger spring
-Glockmiester captured SS guide rod and 20# spring
-Fixed Meprolights
-Galco Miami Classic shoulder rig (black)
This is one sweet shooter. I cant believe how fast and hard the .357 Sig drops the steel plates at the range!
I ordered 3 boxes of Speer 125gr Gold Dots from Cheaperthandirt.com

I know this has probably been covered a hundred times but, what does the 3.5# connector & NY1 trigger spring do for your trigger pull?
Thanks
For me it firms up the initial slack or take up of the trigger. The trigger break is a little crisper but heavier than stock. Stock triggers break at around 5.5#'s. With this setup, they say it breaks at about 6.5#'s. Trigger reset seem a little more pronounced.
More than anything I like the reliability of the New York style trigger springs. I have seen sveral standard coil trigger springs break.
Adding the 3.5# connector to the NY1 trigger spring brings the trigger break back down to near factory.
If you use the NY1 with the factory trigger spring, it gives you an 8# break.
I had the same setup on a model 23 and eventually had trouble with the trigger resetting. I eventually got rid of the gun but later read that the NY trigger should only be used with the 5.5# connector. Give us a long term report on how it works out for you. By the way, I'm a native Wyoming boy myself. Not too many can claim that!

Good info. Thanks!
From my glock armorers manual.........
Descibes the NY1 and NY2 trigger springs....."Either spring should be installed only with the 2.0kg or the 2.5kg connector, neither should be installed with the 3.5kg connector".
To my knowledge there are 3 factory connectors. One is marked with a -. One is not marked (standard). The last is marked with a +. 2.0 (-), 2.5 (unmarked) and 3.5 (+). The glock measurments are in kg's.
I believe this equates to the 3.5, 5.0 and 8.0 lbs connectors. So you wouldnt want to use the 8.0# (3.5kg) connector with the NY1 or NY2 triggers. I believe people mistake the 3.5 LBS for the 3.5 KG connector.
I could be wrong.
PS....Im a transplant to Wyoming, origonaly from Seattle. Been here almost 10 years though. Do you ever come back this way?
3.5# connector (- marked)......
5.0# connector (no markings).........
8.0# connector (+ marked)........

MBR,
Finally found where I read that info. It was in the Glock Annual '04.
" ....These combination polymer leaf and coil type trigger springs replace the standard Glock coil trigger spring and are designed to be used only with the five pound connector....."
I'm sure the armorers manual is a better reference though.
I haven't been back to Wyoming since '96 ( and it's killing me ) but I may put aside some of my tax return for another trip out this summer. I still have relatives in Cheyenne, Wheatland & Buffalo.

I love my G32, for the best ammo you can buy for your .357 that really brings out the best in this caliber, go to www.doubletapammo.com and get some of McNetts gold dots.. They ARE AWESOME.. the hardest hitting SIG loads you can get, and i have tried most of them from every other mfg and DT is THE BEST:)
