View Full Version : New Member... G37 ejector question
I've had my G-37 for about a month now. It seems to be an inherently accurate gun, and it's been utterly reliable for 400+ rounds (no surprise.) There has been one "problem" though...
I notice when I cock the slide, the ejector is leaving a scratch down the length of the cartridge. This scratch appears to be more pronounced with first cartridge in a fully loaded mag. I imagine this might cease once the mag spring settles down.
My question is, what are the consequences of this problem, if any. Could this potentially be a problem for reloading? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
That has not caused any problems for me or my reloads.
Then I take it you are familiar with this situation?
Yup, it's a common occurance with Glocks and 10-round magazines, especially the G37.
The problem will fade away as the magazine springs soften up a bit.
Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about polishing the underside of the ejector. But I will wait to see what happens. I'd like to think the brass cases will do this naturally over time. I know brass is softer than steel, but if water can polish stone... Anyways, time will tell!
Thanks again

I believe that only loading 9, or putting a full 10 rounder in the gun only at slidelock will also greatly reduce this from happening, as would putting a plus two baseplate on (actually only a plus one on the 37).
My experience is also as Danny said - it gets better as the mag ages, but I dont think anyone should be crying at the idea of only loading 9 if that's what they feel comfortable with.
They are a very accurate 9 shots, thats for sure!
PS - when you are talking about the ejector don't you instead mean the cartridge ramp machined into the bottom of the slide?
Rusty, I figured out that 9 in the mag was the way to go on my first range outing. The first time I crammed 10 in the mag, I couldn't even get it to lock into the reveiver without forcing it. It has since loosened up substantially. I would certainly feel comforatble with nine rounds. But I will still load all ten.
And no, I was reffering to the ejector when i mentioned the ejector;)
