I would like to acquire a CD with the 3.7 release. I am unable to download it as my CD's do not have enough space. Can anyone send me a copy? I can pay a reasonable price(Up to $3.00) via Paypal for the expense. TNX

You are building the disk image from an ISO aren't you and not just trying to copy it to a CD?

You need to burn it as as an "image","iso","DAO"(disk at once).Set your cd burning software to allow overburning. You need 700mb/80 minute CD's.If you are using Roxio download the updates. It will first tell you there is not enough disk space then it will go ahead and burn it correctly.Which software and CD's are you using?

I want to thank allof you for the replies. I am grateful for your help. However I am challenged by computers many times and don't always understand the mechanics of them. I will take up the offer of the free copy. TNX to all. Good Shooting

I started with Knoppix 3.2, which got progessively better up until 3.6 and 3.7, at which point I couldn't even shut down computer (Dell Dimension 550) and it wouldn't recognize usb drive anymore. I don't know how this stuff gets broken as it matures but decided to try out Fedora C3.....like it very much.

I have the USB problem on one PC with Knoppix 3.7.This is a bug in kernel 2.6.9.Kanotix works better for me.I got Kanotix 9A installed and running but Kanotix X(10)fix 2 won't fails when I try to install on the hard drive.More sound card support in Kanotix than Knoppix. The limited edition German version of Knoppix 3.7 Pro PC Welt does have English on it but when booting the CD the keyboard map is Germen and must be changed to English.Knoppix 3.7 Pro is not based on Knoppix 3.7 but is based on Knoppix 3.6 and has the Knoppix 3.6 kernel.USB should fuction with this one.It also has a good firewall.A first for Knoppix I think.

The best live Linux CD I've found is PCLinuxOS preview 8.Everything works correctly on it and it's up to date.I tried both Game Knoppix,3.7.01 and 3.7.02.The video is blurry/fuzzy on Gasmes Knoppix 3.7.01.It's based on Knoppix 3.7 and uses kernel.Games Knoppix 3.7.02 is eccellemt and has updated kernel and Nvidia 3d drivers. The problem with the Games Knoppix is the installer is missing and can't install to hard drive.Oh for the USB problems on Knoppix 3.7 try the 2.4 kernel.I'm not sure if it has better USB functionality than the 2.6.9 kernel but it's something to try.The 2.6 kernel is suppose to have better USB support but kernel 2.6.9 has a problem in this area.I can't remember but I think I did have the same USB problem with 2.4 kernel on Knoppix 3.7.It could be another cause.PCLinuxOS has kernel 2.6.7 and the USB works perfectly.

Can someone tell me how I can check my disk space on FC3? Also, I've updated to latest kernel, is it possible to delete previous kernels? Thanks..

I received the disk today and am running at this time. It is very interesting and if all goes well I will see about installing it in this computer as a optional OS. Who knows, it may well turn into the primary one. Many thanks for the request and helpfulness you have shown. Thank You. Bruce:cool:

I installed Knoppix 3.6 on one of my PC's.I tried installing Knoppix 3.7 but I forget what problem I had with it.When sharing with Windows I choose to install the Knoppix bootloader to the root partition rather than the master boot record MBR.Then Knoppix ask for a clean floppy to use to boot Knoppix.Without the floppy the computer will boot into Windows normally.Recomended swap partition used to be twice your memory upto one gig.Now one gig is the prefedered swap partition with any amount of memory.

I've tried to remember what problem I had with Knoppix 3.7.I was doing a quick install on my Pentium III PC.It's kinda picky.I almost never have trouble on my Pentium IV PC.Anyway I think I remember the bootloader on 3.7 being Grub and on the Knoppix 3.6 I have on that PC uses Lilo. Also some people have reported problems with the 2.6.9 kernel during install. This was the one I was using.Knoppix 3.6 has kernel 2.6.7.Of course you can always choose the 2.4 kernel which is very reliable.I was testing different Linux Distros and the test version of the 2.6.8 was the first that I personally saw any speed increase.Only problem was cdrecord didn't work with it.After patching to use cdrecord all speed increase was lost.I didn't see any gain with 2.6.9.But now with 2.6.10 all I can say is this one is fast!! Pro Mepis 2005 beta 4 has kernel 2.6.10.
