...and now if I could only keep one pistol of the three that I have, it would be my G17....I have night sights and four std. capacity mags for it. I know it may sound a little over kill to be able to carry 69 rounds, but since I live in Detroit MI. and my Grandmother lives in Benton Harbor MI., it makes me feel good.
I was surprised at how much less recoil there was when compared to the .40/.357 rounds. It's not as if there is a HUGE difference, but when shooting 200-500 rounds in an afternoon of shooting, it's much nicer (and cheaper.)
I also am comfortable with the less powerfull 9MM rd. since I started carrying Corbon ammo in 115 gr., it moves out at 1425 fps. out of a G17, that is .357SIG like velocities!!! And I can carry 18 rd.s, it's lighter, lower recoil, less muzzle blast and rise, esaier to double and triple tap in practice. Plus I know it will work EVERY TIME.
Although I use my G22 when I participate in bowling pin shoots, it's good to know that the G17 carries and shoots the same way.
