View Full Version : Recommend a CPU cooler
Whats good for an AMD 64 CPU socket 754, for under $50.00?
MB is an Asus K8N. Case is Aspire X-Dreamer II.
This one, or its big brother (the one I have) are under $50 and are excellent coolers.
My Prescott, OCed a bit to 3GHz, idles at under 30C with this heatsink! And my highest load temp lately has been 42C.
Best of all, it fits most any CPU socket and comes with thermal interface grease and a fan speed controller.
Very quiet and also cools every part on the MOBO by virtue of its large, unobstructed fan.
It can't be beat. If you move your PC around a lot, though, you need to exercise care, since this cooler weighs over two pounds!
The Zalman CNPS7000 or 7700-AlCu is lighter and works nearly as well.
This proc cooler runs neck and neck with the absolute best cooler on the market, the Thermalright XP-120.
