The wife wanted to look at her own g37, and we were just about ready to buy a new one from a local store and i noticed that when you rack the slide and release the slide stop, the slide would stop again approx 1/8 of an inch later. It did this with unloaded mags inserted. it didnt do it without mags inserted. The guy behind the counter said it was nothing and just slammed it forward with the heel of his hand, but ive never seen a new Glock do this so needless to say we didnt finalize the sale.
Any thoughts?

It's hitting the follower, some of the first 37's had this problem but Glock has since fixed the followers on the mags.Buy the gun and give Glock a call they will fix you up.Ken

Thanks for the info.
I actually found a dealer that was 30.00 cheaper on up the road.
Ill order one from him monday.
The follower problem was cured in October 2003. Sounds like a dry slide or a bad recoil rod.

I bought a new 37 in August 04 and it had the same problem, called Glock and they sent me 2 new mags.It could be an early 37 that has been sitting on dealers shelf for a while.Mine was doing the exact same thing that terminator described, you could see where it was hanging back of follower called Glock they informed me that it was a follower problem.Ken

It was an F series gun, but im sure that didnt have much to do with it. It was unfortunately the only one they had in stock.
The first 1,000 were in the FUB/FUC sereies of numbers
Yeah mine starts with FUE and i had the bad followers. Finally got around to sending them out to Glock Thursday. Hopefully I will be getting them back soon

But will the gun work when there are bullets in the magazine or will it hang up?

The gun only hangs up on the follower,it shoots all 10rds fine and locks back after the last shot, but if you drop the slide while the mag is empty it hangs.Ken

Thank you for youre quick reply.^c
Just tried my wife's G-37 # FUDxxx that I traded for NIB in December 2004. I experienced no problems. BTW the date on the Glock box says Oct,03.
I never had a problem with my slide hanging. However on the last shot the slide would close completely instead of staying open.

This is also a result of the bad magazines. The redesigned magazines do two things. They take the side to side slop out of the front of the follower and they don't allow the follower to ride as high in the back.
FYI, when I called Glock about new followers they did not want to send them to me. They wanted me to send them the old magazines so they could send me new ones. They claim the whole magazine was redesigned not just the follower.

Mine is an FUE serial number and the box also says Oct 03 on it and I got the defective magazines. Although Glock may have identified the problem early on, I am sure quite a few made it the market and who knows how many are sitting on dealer shelves still today.
