Anyone have experience with this new version of Smith's 1911? Other than the grips and sights what are the differences?
I got one two months ago. It is my favorite 1911 pistol. It has superb (for me) accuracy, very tight fit and looks great. The only differences from the standard SW1911 and Target are the sights, grips and checkered front strap (not on standard). Mine has ambi safety too, I don't remember if the standard does or not. The only change I made was to add new grips (black and tan to match the "billboard"). I have owned Paras,Springfields, Colts, and Norincos. My SW1911 Target beats them all.

I love my standard S&W 45. Best deal going for 45's.
Nicely built and it shoots well. Still nice and tight after 1,000 + rounds.
I might have to buy that target model. I like the sights and the checkering.
I saw and handeled thier lightweight model. I don't like lighwieght 45's.
It's steel or nothing.

Bought it about three months ago...Shoots as well if not better than my Kimber. Love the gun;?
