Hello all, I just returned from the range and all I can say is WOW! I have owned and shot handguns, mostly Sig's and a few Smith & Wesson's but, never as accurate as this. This is my first Glock I have owned and shot. Today was the first day with my G37 at the range ( All the other times shooting were camping......Coke cans and so on....No real targets ). Anyway, I could not believe how accurate the gun was, out of my first thirty shot's 95% were in the orange and the other's were borderline (At 25'). Then, at 50' I was able to keep all within the 9 ring and 5 or so in the orange. They were silhouettes targets. My friend was in the lane next to me and his Springfield XD 40 kept jamming every third round or so. The rangemaster said it was beacuse the ammo he was using was too flat at the tip and it was catching the ramp. Well, all I can say is that I'm beyond pleased with my weapon choice and will be purchasing many more Glocks. Oh yeah, and if you didn't already know, the gun ran flawless.....
Now for my question......When I was shooting I noticed my shells ejecting towards the rear. In fact, one round caught me on the top of my head. Most of the rounds were flying about 2-3 feet back and about 9 inches to the right. Is this normal? I was expecting them to fly further to the side rather than back. Anyway, I appreciate the responses.:)
The ejection pattern is often a result of grip and stance. Also, the recoil spring is quite new and stiff.

Thanks. When I had the one hit the top of my head I adjusted my grip a bit and the path of the shell did change( Ejected more to the right side). So, what should I be seeing when stance and grip are correct? Thanks for the help.......
I prefer the isoceles stance--both arms straight out.

I realize everyone has their own opiion of proper technique, but what direction should the shells be flying( I will try your technique and see what happens)? I'm assuming coming back towards me is not correct.....Which direction and how far do your shells eject? Thanks again.

after a [ouch] while [ouch] you get [ouch] used to [ouch]the brass [ouch] hitting you [ouch] in the [ouch] face
had several hit me in the face yesterday and caught one on the left side of my safety glasses and a couple in my shirt pockets
oh - I agree - the 37 is very accurate

and also what load you are shooting....
a hotter load (speer lawman 200 grain 980 fps) will eject differently than a 200 grain bullet with just enough powder to get the slide to cycle

Interesting, so many different variables. So, I take it take that it is normal and not to worry about it? I was using Speer Lawman 185 grain. Again, thanks for all the information and advice.....

I have found that the G 37 Likes hot loads.Ejects to the right and rear, some of my light target loads barely cycle. If one should want to fire "light " target loads, you may be better off with a lighter recoil spring. Mine is accurate with both hot and light loads.:)

Sorry, new to most of this......What would be considered hot loads? 200 and 230 gr. ? What other companies make these loads? I have only found 185 gr. Speer at the gun store ( Other than Gold Dots ). Also, has anyone in here found a lighter recoil spring beneficial in the 37? Thanks again for all the help, Jeff

Okay, I just checked and it seems I had been firing to different loads. My magazines were loaded with a previous box of Speer Lawman 200 gr.. When I purchased more ammo at the range they were 185 gr.. This makes sense since I did not notice the different ejection path until later on. I will stick with the 200 gr. Lawman. Any suggestions on ammo that in your opinion cycles more reliability with the stock 17# spring? I'am sure learning alot form you guys, thanks. ;K
I used speer lawaman 200 winchester wb 230 federal 185 winchester sxt silver tips 185 and gold dots 200. I never have a problem like that unless I itentionally change my grip.

Thanks, I will also take the grip advice next time at the range. Like I said, this is my first Glock ( Shot and owned ) so, I'm still learning.
