Has anyone else noticed the crappy airbrushing and cut and paste job on the cover of the magazine "THE COMPLETE BOOK OF THE 1911" put out by Guns&Ammo. I have read this thing about twenty times already while sitting on the throne and I just caught this.
It looks like the Colt 1911 Reissue has an accessory rail, the front top of the trigger guard looks like it is bulging instead of receding, the handgrip was obviously cut and pasted, and the bottom of the wood grip looks as if it was dragged across some concrete.
I would post a picture if I could figure out how. Too funny.

I think it is just odd lighting. If you compare the cover to the pics in the article, they look very similar. I think there is some light source coming from the bottom of the gun that iluminates the bottom of the grips and the dust cover in a wierd way.

I agree with the lighting on the pictures in the article. But, the one on the cover is obviously a poor airbrush job. You can tell because there are too many clear demarcation lines along with the grain of the spray from the airbrush. I have a little experience with airbrushing and that is actually what a botched job looks like.
I good airbrush artist would have tricked your eye into thinking that it was lighting without a doubt, that picture does not do that.

I posted the picture that was used for the cover. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it.
Am I missing something? Pic looks fine at this resolution.

That is not the picture I was referring to. I will try to scan this cover and send it to you by e-mail.
