I'm about to purchase my first handgun, a G22 .40s&w. I know that it can be converted to .357sig with a simple barrel change. I figured at some point I'd try this out so I could essentially have two guns in one. I've done my homework on the .40, but know very little about the .357. What are the main differences in recoil, performance, power, etc. between the two? Just want to make sure that the .357sig round is different enough from the .40 to be interesting enough to necessitate buying an extra barrel. Thanks in advance for any info.

you will definitely notice a difference btwn the 40 and 357. I have a G32 that I just bought a 40 barrel for.
The 357 sig has distinctly sharper recoil and report, especailly with the hotte loads like www.doubletapammo.com which I highly recommend, this load brings out the BEST in 357 sig!! For some real fun at the range get some Cor-Bon 125 grain, the flame is about a foot long from my G32.. this is also a great round..
I like the 40 for defense and carry and the SIG for fun at the range. The ammo is a little more expensive but worth it IMO.....:)
