I've heard from many that the only real difference between the .40 and the .357 is the stamping on the slide. However, I'm trying to find out if one conversion (.40 to .357) is any better or worse than the other (.357 to .40). Maybe it doesn't matter at all. I'm interested in shooting both calibers. I've been set on getting a g22 and a g31 barrel for it. I just want to make sure that there are no reasons to go the other way around (buying a g31 and a g22 barrel). Thanks.
You may be better off the other way around. I may be mistaken but, I believe there can be some feed issues when using .357 out of .40 mags. The .357 mags seem to feed both calibers just fine.
I converted my G23 .40 to .357 Sig. I purchased a factory G32 barrel and .357 mags (1 g32, 2 G31). I have shot a few hundred rounds of .357 using the .40 mags. No problems or feed issues. I just wanted to be on the safe side (for the sake of $60.00 in mags).
I believe the problems with .40 mags using .357 is hit and miss. They do work most of the time.
The guide rods are the same between the two guns. You will like the .357, very accurate and hits hard.
The two guns are the same, sans barrel, mags and markings.
MBR has covered it pretty well.

Ola,
along these same lines I have changed a G27 to .357Sig simply by dropping in a different barrel. Glock recommends using only the .357 magazine. I have examined both magazines under a magnifying glass and can see no difference whatsoever. Is this a marketing ploy by Glock or does anyone know of any difference. I also have several .357 Sig mags and I cannot tell which is which when I shoot.
Anyone out there have any opinions or experiences?

The vhyper
I have been OK using the .40 mags.
A few have reported feed problems.
Best to test your mags.
Now that the full cap .357 mags are out, might get a few.
Enjoy.
