Automatic file backup??

So now everything on my computer is all set up. I have 30 gigs on C, which will be OS and programs. 40 gigs on D, which will be files(documents, mp3's, etc.), and an external drive with 160 gigs.

This is what I would like.

Everytime a file is saved to the d drive, it is automatically added to the external G drive, creating an automatic backup of the file.

Or, if that's not possible, is there a backup program that will allow me to have certain folders copied to the external drive every night?
