View Full Version : Replaced New York Trigger?
A friend of mine replaced the New York Trigger spring in my 33 with the stock spring. Love it. He says the best combination is the New York trigger spring with a 3.5 lb connector. Anyone tried this combo?

It is a nice combo.
Was recommended to me by the head of training for Detroit PD.

I put that setup in my G30. Works great.

I think the New York Spring with the 3.5 lb. connector is the hot tip. I have it on all my Glocks. The NY spring is a compression spring which is more reliable than a tension spring with eyelets on it. If I used the standard springs, I'd replace them on a time interval to keep them reliable.

Does that combo feel like the standard trigger or is it a continuous pull that feels like traditional DAO?

Kinda' in between. You still feel the takeup, but it is stiffer. Then the Hard spot before the release, but it is less noticable. Then the release with a firmer over travel. It has the effect of smoothing out the highs and lows of the pull. Trigger reset is also very firm which is nice, there is no doubt when you have reset.
After a couple months of it, I cleaned everything and found exessive wear on my trigger bar and connector. I switched back to standard set up. It may have been just my gun, not a trend.
I may go back to it again, I shot my best IDPA scores with that setup.
