Bill fnfalman 01-26-2005, 09:16 Simply put, it's a light DAO pull. The trigger pull is around 6.5-lbs instead of the standard 11 to 12-lbs pull. But you still have the same long trigger travel as a regular DA. Some swear by it, I don't like it. I prefer SA pulls for precision shooting. sundance43.5 01-26-2005, 10:18 I know OXCOPS loves his DAK Sig, so maybe he'll join the discussion with a positive opinion, but I'm going with fnfalman on this one. I owned a DAK 226 9mm. It was the most accurate gun I've owned when I took my time with every shot. That was great, but trying to shoot with any sort of speed was made harder by the long pull and long reset. The trigger pull weight wasn't as much of an issue, just the length of the pull and the reset. I really wanted to love that gun. It was two-tone with night sights and a beauty to look at and shoot, just not as practical as my Glock 34 for actual defense. Sigs were meant to be DA/SA. That's their thing. I'm not a fan of double actions, but if you want the best DA/SA, get a Sig. sx-al 01-26-2005, 15:05 Hi ya'll I am fixin to get my first Sig and am torn between the 226-40 in std or dak triggers. It was a tough enough to pick the 226 over the 220 because I have a Kimber which my wife hogs at the range....anyhow. I wanted something w/ lg caps. I will 95% get the original trigger but I thought you could switch a dak back to da/sa. Which was the only reason I considered it. I really like the crisp sa after you drop the slide, I aint so hot for long triggers regardles of pull weight. I tried the HK p2000 at the range and its a long pull w/ a light overall weight. The set is about half way through the pull. ?? can you half reset a dak trigger, so as to shorten overall travel? ?? can you adjust the dak length of pull? Iquiering minds want to know! Al Firstly, the DAK CAN NOT be converted to DA/SA, only DAO can be. Secondly, I don't know what you mean by "half resetting". Finally, you can't adjust the length of the pull. sx-al 01-27-2005, 14:11 I aint getting the dak. Sundance what I meant was not letting the trigger go back forward all the way after it is pulled. Like I do w/ my AR, I pull and let it go back only so much so its not a long pull again. Hope my explination makes sense;g . As for the non adjustable trigger...that sucks. Everything in life should be adjustable. I appreciate your help, my lack of knowledge ends up being expensive when I have to sell a gun I totally hate (USP 45, big honking gun). Man I wish this forum would have been around back when I started collecting. Al sundance43.5 01-27-2005, 14:34 Originally posted by sx-al I aint getting the dak. Al I don't know how to explain it technically, but another aspect of the DAK trigger is that there is a reset point, but at that point the trigger pull is 8#. You have to let it go all the way forward again to get the 6.5# pull. sx-al 01-27-2005, 15:38 Hey sundance, you did more for me in 1 post than my local shop could have in a week. They dont have a DAK so your explination makes perfect sense. I used to have a TZ-75 so going back to DA/SA is no sweat. Thanks Al sundance43.5 01-27-2005, 18:42 Originally posted by sx-al Hey sundance, you did more for me in 1 post than my local shop could have in a week. Don't just take my opinion as an answer, look for posts by OXCOPS and a few others who like theirs. I just don't see the point for this trigger system. If you're any good with DA/SA, you'll probably be happier with that setup. If not, get a Glock. wade farley 01-31-2005, 03:36  To be Honest though, I have never shot a DAK Trigger system. I do like the LEM That H&K has, but that is another system altogether! Have fun & stay safe!;f vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
