experience with acoustic amps?

I play acoustic and have an Epiphone John Lennon signature. It has magnetic pickups.

I would like to get an acoustic amp but find it hard to make a decision since there are so many.

What are any of your experiences with acoustic amps?

I am looking at Fender, Behringer Acx1000, and maybe a Roland.

I intend to play in small settings and probably would need a mic attachment.

I have to admit that I'm a little intimidated by the whole amp thing.

Where I live there are no stores close by to do any hands on experimentation.
