I have heard that some gunsmiths won't even install sights on Kahrs because the sights are fitted so tight, so I definitely wouldn't do it myself (that's just me though).

If you buy the sights from Kahr they will install them for free. You do not have to send the whole gun in, just the slide.

I had my dealer install Trijicons on my PM9. They're great by the way. He is a skilled Glock armorer and used a universal sight pusher. Those factory sights were tight! The front sight snapped off its base and we had to drive the small remaining dovetail out of its groove with a brass punch and hammer. This is one sight I would not attempt to replace at home. (Kimber factory sights are also bears to remove.)

I had the Big Dots put on my PM9 locally. He broke the tool that they came with. He had to do some grinding. The big dots come with a set-screw set-up. Totally unecessary for my gun. They are in there now!

...how do you like the big dots on your PM9? I was going to have Kahr install a set when I had to send in my slide because the rear sight fell out of it. They were out of stock, and I didn't want to wait 2-3 weeks for more to come in. By the way y'all, Kahr was going to charge me something like $30 to install them, so I'm not so sure about free installation if you buy them from Kahr. I guess that just may have been my experience...shrug.

I love them! Considering that I don't consider the PM9 a 25 yard gun (not that I normally shoot any of my handguns at 25 yards) the Big Dots are very fast to acquire. For close up stuff, I just put the dot on the target. I don't wait to line up the rear sight. Because of muscle memory issues, the rear sight is probably close anyway. For longer distances, I pay attention more to lining them up.

I ordered mine from Kahr when I bought my gun around March of '04. It took 3 or 4 months for them to come.

just had a big dot night sight up front and trijicon's on rear on a TP9. It seems like the best setup so far although I not shot it yet.
