View Full Version : Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has any one every done the recoil spring plug mod themselves? I am undecided on wether to buy the wilson full lenght rod, or the clark reverse plug for my officers. I called wilson and said I would have to take off around 25 thousands of a inch of material off the dustcover. I was told I could do this with a file. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this. I am in construction and very mechanicaly inclined. I jost dont have the money to send it to the smith.

I've been messing with 1911's for a while and I've never heard of this mod. (or needed it). What is the problem with your 1911 you're looking to solve ?
Reverse recoil spring plug for my colt officers model. Wilson and Clark said I would have to file down 25 thousandths of a inch off my dustcover to get it to fit.

I see. So this mod. is specific to the "officers" size. That's why I've never heard of it. I've only had full size and Commanders.
Thanks anyways Mr prezz, Its the thought that counts;)
