How to remove handguard on CETME?

I know there's a single screw at the front but I can't seem to see how to remove the handguard. Do I need to remove the front sight to get at it? I'd like to clean underneath and besides I might want to replace the stocks with synthetic later on. (I know, minor fitting etc.)

After you remove the screw, you need to pull down hard on the front of the forearm.

Or you can wrap electrician's tape on the end of a small flat blade screwdriver, and VERY GENTLY lever it on the metal front end cap of the forearm to slide it off. Just go slow and it will pop off.
