View Full Version : which holster?
Okay guys i went with the p9 covert, now I need a way to carry. Whigh holster do you recommend? C-tac , or other iwb. Which pocket holster? I work in an office enxiroment, so concealment is definteky necessary. What do you guys think??
Thanks, joell33

Carry my P9 in a Fist #1 IWB kydex holster (also comes in leather). It's comfortable, strong, and fits the pistol perfectly. They can be had for around $35 (+ shipping). I liked it so much, I'm going to buy one for my PM9 as well.

I have a C-Tac for my Glock 26. I'm very happy with it.
For my Kahr PM9 (about the same size as your P9 Covert), it's the Fist K4 Kydex, tuckable. I have it with the extreme cant, and the body protector. The kydex is very thin. My closest thing to a complaint is I have to work to reholster. I would just hate to waist the thinness of that gun on a thick holster. When I ordered from Fist, I had them make a tuckable IWB mag holder too. They charged $30, which is what they charge for all of their mag holders. Custom, no problem. The only other drawback is the wait. They make all their stuff to order, so it takes time to wait in line. They don't really keep a stock of holsters ready to go out.

P9 - Don Hume 715, sometimes Uncle Mike's #3
PM9 - Uncle Mike's #3
There's nothing really wrong with the Don Hume, except it sheds some leather flakes on the gun sometimes. I don't understand why more manufacturers don't make their leather holsters with the smooth finish side in.
As far as IWB goes I like Milt Sparks Watch Six. I don't pocket carry so can't recommend anything there.
I think the finest horsehide holsters made, both scabbard and IWB come from Kramer Leather. You pay a little extra, but it's totally worth it.
For Kahrs, I'm really rather fond of their MSP Paddle. Great if your gun has to come on and off throughout the day.
HEY check these out .. Hand made extremely nice leather and easy conceal i have one of the canutes for my k9 i love it best holster i own ..pretty much any gun and they fit like a glove, tight retention even without thumb breaks and other distractions like that ..

M.T.A.C. or C.T.A.C. or Tucker "The Answer". I also use a Thunderwear holster at work (Smart Carry is the same...) I'm in an office environment, and need real concealment. I have others, but I like these the best...
Good Luck!

I have the leather version and I'm pretty darned happy with it. I feel that I got more holster than I deserved for the price. And, yes, I plan on buying more from Fist, Inc. in the future.
Desantis makes very good pocket holsters.
I have found that with lighter guns, where weight does not affect comfort, a single point attachment is sufficient. I currently carry my PM40 in a High Noon Split Decision. The Talon clip will securely hold on to my jeans and khakis sans belt, though I usually do wear one. While there is nothing wrong with using a CTAC, Answer, VMII, etc... I find that for a small, light handgun, the quick on/off and adjustment the single point attachment offers outweighs any negligible difference in comfort. Obviously, with the bigger and heavier Glocks, 1911's, etc... the dual point attachment is much more of an asset.
Also, the Split Decision is tuckable, and there is only one clip to worry about people seeing (horizontal cell phone case will cover the clip).
I carry my K9 and my PM9 in very concealable Don Hume JIT holters. The reasons I like them are that they are faster to draw out of than a pancake or iwb holster, because they only pull the butt end, which is the part you want to conceal closer to the body and still allow me enough room to grab the gun. It also allows me more flexabilty to position the holster around my waist when the circumstances require it. The other reason is that it doubles as a pocket holster. The width, front to rear is just right to fit into the hip pocket of my jeans, or the front pocket of loose fitting pants. The JIT is the perfect length for a PM9. And for my K9, only the front part of the front sight and forward pertrude out, so there isn't any chance of snagging.

I have been carrying my Kahr P9 for awhile now using a Super-Tuck Deluxe IWB holster by Crossbread. It is by far the most comfortable IWB holster I have used and it holds my P9 nice and secure. I highly recommend it!

There have been several threads about the MTAC holster by Camp-Tac and people seem to like these as well. I took a look at these, but I think you have greater adjustability of the cant angle with the Super-Tuck Deluxe.
