"Kahr – One of the truly new guns this year is at Kahr. They have introduced the P45, a .45 ACP auto with a plastic frame. Think of it as a scaled up P9. It is new to the market, though pictures have been floating around for a couple of months.
Another ‘new’ gun is the CW9. It is the economy version of the P9, like the E9 was to the K9. According to Frank Harris at Kahr, the introduction of the PM9 a couple of years ago pretty much killed sales of the P9, so the CW9 has been brought out. The CW9 uses a number of methods to reduce production costs. Several machining operations have been left off the slide. It has a very blocky configuration, much like a Glock. There are no dovetail cuts either, so no night sights will be available. The CW9 also uses convention cut land and groove rifling rather than the polygonal rifling of the more expensive Kahrs. All this cost cutting has managed to reduce the price of a P9 by $150-$200 or nearly one-third.
Kahr has also brought out 1911 type pistols with the Thompson logo rather than as Auto Ordinance guns. One of this uses a lightweight frame. "
Sounds like they have a lot going on. Both 45s pecked my interest.
According to his site there were a slew of "camera Nazis" for those without press creditionals.
I'm sad myself I really want to see the p45.
While at the show I spoke to Justin Moon about the outcome of the finished P45. He said that it was going to look similar to the demo that was at the show. Just a few details to clean up. It is one that is will coming home with me as soon as they come out. I'll help them work out any bugs if there are any. For pics refer to other post by michigun I believe, They are the same gun. Other note:
They had a little gun there that I would call a mixing of Thompson and Kahr. It was a prototype 45 GAP. They said that it was just something they were playing around with, you know, all those extra spare parts and the Dr. Frankenstien in us all. That was a very cool piece. Here is my vote for production.
I have the literature on the new p45 I have to pick up from my friend but I don't know how helpful it will be. I told you guys a while ago Kahr are is focusing on building cheaper guns so the dealers will buy their products. I think it would be foolish of them to drop any of the models they make presently and especially the elite versions that are their gems. The can't sell the metal models without advertising them. I never see an MK9 on the back of a magazine all I see is the PM9 being advertised and sometimes other polymers of theirs. Never any metal guns.

I don't know how many constitutes a 'slew' but I saw about ten old men with yellow windbreakers, with the words "CAMERA PATROL" emblazoned on the back. I was going to take a picture of one but I forgot. ;)
Camera phones are nifty.

More info - was it a SA gun or a striker gun or what? Did it look 1911ish or Kahrish? No fair - say more!

very small 1911ish. black frame, stainless slide, wood grips, big front sight, flat hammer (?if that is a proper name) "P" series size. again very, very cool.

Yep. I looked at that one. Along with the other I was trying to describe (maybe not to well). I didn't get a name or a number of the piece, sorry. IF you were there maybe you could describe the gun in question, that is if you saw it. I think it was with some of the Thompson guns.

Teach:
The other gun you saw from the Auto-Ord side of the house could've been a micro (ie sub-Officers)-sized 1911. I wasn't aware they had one in the works, but I'm not a 1911 shooter so I don't keep close tabs...

I'm sorry that I can't remeber the name of the person I spoke to, but like I said before, it was a prototype gun they were playing with. Maybe they are going to monitor posts like this and see how many people are talking about it. Here is another vote for production.
Compman,
How about a little help here. You seem to have an inside conection. Do you know of the gun I'm talking about?
