Ok thinking of getting a KAHR for the misses and maybe one for me too
she likes the grip length of the Glock 23/19 series but finds em to be a lil FAT just wondered if any KAHR's were more ladylike
also for me looking for a pocket cary peice
wondered what was about the same overall size as the 26/27 but thinner
and lastly How does the 40 shoot out of such a small pistol?
thank you
OH PIX WOULD BE NICE AS THERE IS NO KAHR PICPOST

I haven't handled all of the Kahr models but since they are all single stack magazines versus double stack for the Glock I would suspect that any Kahr will be thinner.
You might give some thought to the P9 (and the P9 Covert perhaps for pocket carry).

from what others have written, the PM40 is painful to shoot.

Here's a nice comparison between the Glock G26 and the Kahr P9

I pocket carry the PM9. I like it. All of the Kahr's are definitely NARROWER than the Glocks. The actual dimensions of the P9 for the most part are between the G19 and G26. Its overall length is shorter than both, but the height is right between them.
My thought is she'd feel very comfortable with the P9, if her desire is similar to the G19. You certainly sacrifice grip length if you go to the P9 Covert (just shorter grip), but for concealability it's the best compromise. There are a number of folks here that pocket carry the P9 Covert.
Good luck with your adventure.
(BTW-I've pocket carried both the SW 340PD and the Kahr PM9. Much happier with the PM9--but I am definitely an auto guy.)
Mud,
I have a Mk9 Duo-Tone with wood grips. I also have a Smith 340SC with the over-molded rubber grips. Even with the rubber grips, the 340 carries in my pocket a lot better than the Kahr. The weight difference is really noticable. Overall size differences between the two don't make much difference to me,
John
I own a PM9 and I've shot an MK40. Both of them jump around a bit in the hand due to the smaller grip, but they're controllable. The MK40's recoil is a bit more than the PM9. More of a snap to it, but like I said not unmanageable. They fit smaller hands better, but in larger hands they're ok. If magazine capacity is an issue for you, carry and extra couple mags (that's what I do if it's my primary that day). Anyways I would reccomend the PM9. It's lighter than the MK40 and has a bit less recoil. I would also suggest a set of XS 27/7 sights as well.
ok maybe ill stick to pocket carry of my 340
dad did talk me into going to the gunshop / range and i feel better afterwards
I kinda fell for the T40 and may look into that just to have
maybe a T9 for her
also liked the pm40 alot, i think that was the one its the bigger one but in polymer
hummmm.....
I SHOULD ADD THIS AS WELL
the weapon for her will not be used for concealed carry.
It will be for times when id like her to have a gun but not leave mine
this weekend for example we were in northern MI at a Ummm how to say this nicely Quaint lil hotel (5 rooms 2 had perm residnts in them)
i had to run to town which was about 40 min away but i dint want to leave my 23 there i left her with my 870 but i know she isnt comfortable with that weapon so i was kinda going nuts. id like her to have a reliable weapon that she is comfortable with that she can shoot well.
i tried to get her a 3 inch wheel gun but she doesnt like revolvers.
im still leaning tward the Glock 19 and i can leave my streamlight m3 on it and a 33 round mag
BUT i know if she is not comfortable with her weapon
A- she wont enjoy shooting with me
B- she may not use it if she had to
ON A RELATED NOTE NOTHING HAPPEND SHE DEAD BOLTED THE DOOR AND FELL ASLEEP

If your better half doesn't shoot much, I would recommend against a micro Kahr (i.e. MK or PM). They R not for the recoil sensitive. Alot of men make the mistake in buying women folk small guns because of hand size, but forget that a small gun in 9mm or greater is going to have a kick.
I like the Bersa .380 for that scenario. It's a fixed barrel, which equates to incredible accuracy. I'm on my 2nd one, since a friend's GF nagged me into selling her my 1st one. I practice w/+P . No wear issues.
$225 NIB w/one mag

Mud, I say either a T9 or K9 for your wife (my wife chose the K9 over everything else out at the time (T9 wasn't out yet), including the G19) & either a PM9 or P9 Covert for you & your pocket.
Here’s a picture of my own P9 Covert: (it isn't shown with any of my GLOCKs so it probably won't help ya any)
