Can anyone tell me what type of effect Metallica liked to use for their lead solo's? Specifically for Fade to Black, but most the solo's have a similiar sound to me.

Kirk also used to use Mesa Boogie amps, ADA MP1 Preamp, and a Tube Screamer. Throw in a few other effects and of course, the Wah pedal.
