AR GT shoot in July

I will be done with the job I'm working in mid-June, but just for a fudge factor, I'd like to still aim for early July. Since I will be footloose and fancy-free, you guys with real jobs and commitments can pick the day, and we'll get with Hotshots for final scheduling.

If we want to do anything besides lane shooting, hotshots is out of the picture (for a few weeks)for medical reasons. As his range's safety officer, he prefers to personally oversee stuff like IDPA and pin-shooting, which is kind of what we had in mind for this get-together.
For the good news, he'll be back in early August, mobile agile and hostile. It's gotta be tough for a former Fast Recon Marine to be slowed down as he is, and all of his local shooters will be rooting for a speedy recovery.
So, wait til August, or seek an alternate venue? Both?

I'd rather wait. I've never shot pins, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I like reactive targets and being able to move a little rather than standing still and punching holes in paper.

Sounds good to me. I'd like to see how much more muzzle flip the G27 has too. Let us know when Kevin is back on his feet and we can get this together. Send Kevin my best wishes.

BTW Does he have his class III license yet? Last time I was there he was going to get his class III and have some full auto rentals. That would be sweet.

Sounds like Sat. August 3rd. Haven't heard back from Kev on the availability of pins yet, but he has a full complement of IDPA paraphernalia. Belt, holster, and mag pouches strongly reccommended.

Western AR, Eastern OK GT'ers
Saturday, August 10th, starting around noon, Hotshots indoor pistol range is hosting an area shoot/meet & greet for GT members.

Hotshots is in Greenwood, AR. From I 540, take US hwy 71 south 8 miles to hwy 10 spur, turning towards Greenwood. From there, its 4/10 mile, and hotshots is at the top of the hill on the left.

For our $10 range fee, we get to take over the joint for a couple of hours (maybe more), shoot some defensive/IDPA style scenarios and wheedle some drills and low-light techniques from Instructor Kev.

Bring your Glock(s) and a holster and mag pouches if you have them.
If not, Kev's courses of fire will accomodate a start from low ready.

Kev has a liability release for shooters who haven't been there before, and stipulates (for the sake of his spankin' new bullet traps) that shooters bring only common pistol calibers, I.E. 44 mag and below.

Hey everyone,

Be sure to bring a flashlight we will work on some low light if your interested. I will set up a couple o IDPA stages and we will run some drills, and I will try to get some pins, thats a big maybe right now.
Pins are hard to do indoors.
