Thankfully Not! Isnt that a Hi-point?

I don't have one either.

Yes it appears to be a Hi-Point.

The people I know that do own one report no problems.

I don't see a need for a pistol caliber carbine. If you want a long gun get one in an effective caliber. If you want hndgun power, get a hangun.

Biggest drawback I see to the Hi-Point carbines is there are no large capacity magazines for them.

My Brother and I both got one when they hit the market about six years ago. Fun to shoot, reliable as hell. I have carried my on some hi risk jobs before with complete confidence.

It is a major deal to clean. Just clean the barrel after use and do not try to take it down until you have shot about 1000 rounds. If you think this gun needs cleaned after every use do not buy it. You will never shoot it because it is too much work to clean it.

NYGunman bought ne about 3 years ago, it's an ok plinker, but I always thought the stock looked like the had carved it out with a chainsaw and smoothed it out with a cheese grater! shoot good though and they do have one in .40 cal!;f ;f

I'd like to try one, but I'd rather have a Keltec Sub2k for twice the price ($285) if I was getting a 9mm carbine.

I think it's Hi-Point's finest product!;f

I have the Sub2000 Kel-Tec in .40 S&W I have not shot it yet but it feels decent and with a 10 round mag of ammo it weighs in at 4lbs. 9oz. I bought it to go with the Glock 22 I am planning to buy and the mags are interchangeable. In fact the mag that came with the Kel-Tec is a Glock mag. Has the stamp and everything. All I really want to get for it now is the red-dot mount and a 29 round stick mg to make it a real fun toy. Too bad I dont have the $50 for the mount or the $50 for the magazine. I payed $318 out the door but I am sure you can get them cheaper.

I will admit that they are ugly. I bought one just to try it out and let me tell you. It performed better than I expected. I was impressed with it. I sold it and am looking for another one now. I used it as a truck gun and killed a few varmints with it.

I hear the carbine is the best thing hi-point makes. Although, like thier hadguns, they are pretty ugly.

I second the idea of getting the sub2000. A guy at the range let my brother shoot one in 9mm, with 33rnd. glock mags. He thought it was pretty cool and it worked well. The really cool part of the kel-tec is that it folds in half. Then it can easily fit in a backback or bag. It would be great for camping for bagging small game or just plinking for fun.

I want one eventually.

I bought the the one NYRedneck is talking about(from NYGunman). I've put about 150 rounds through it since I got it. The only problem is the front of the bullet goes down instead of up into the chamber when I try to chamber the first round. It might just be with the hollow points but I dont know. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this?

Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this? Sounds like you might not be seating the magazine in all the way. When you put it in, don't be gentle. She likes to be slapped.

Also which magazine are you using? The newer looking one I barely used. You also might want to clean the feed ramp. It should be OK but you never know.

There seems to be two types of people. People that never shot the Hi-Point Carbine and hate it and those that tried it and now love it.

I bought a bunch of 9mm ammo and a guy threw one in for just about free. I must admit I enjoyed it but a buddy of mine gave me a "man that'd be great to keep behind the seat" so that ended my ownership.

I put one of those awesome compensators on there with a laser and it was great for hip shootin ;P

I also had a cheapo reddot scope on it. They come with a free scope base...

It could be any one of those problems.

It might even be the older mag that I was using because I only used one of them.

I personally like to shoot oranges with it, thats fun.:)

I purchased a HiPoint 995 carbine a couple of years ago after reading an article in Gun Test magazine.

The HiPoint was shot head to head against a Ruger that was twice the price, and came out on top.

I bought one because I really like 9mm pistols, and wanted a companion carbine in the same caliber.

The HiPoint has been more than satisfactory. It is accurate, reliable and fun to shot. I put a "red dot" sight on it, and it's even more fun to plink with.

IMO this little carbine is well worth the money. I've heard horror stories about the HiPoint pistols so I can't comment on them, but the HiPoint 995 Carbine has been excellent.

Best Wishes..;f

I also picked one of these up for $175 when they first came out. I had excellent luck with it, fired several rounds through it without a single problem. Its not pretty but I can honestly say its such a simple kinda gun I actually liked it. I would grab it in a "***** hits the fan" situation any day.
