I went to a local dealer today and ended up leaving with a NIB P7M8. I have been wanting one of these fine handguns since I fired one a couple years ago. I can't wait to try it out!

They aren't cheap, but since production has stopped, I figured my time to by a new one for a regular price was running out.

These are awesome guns in my opinion.

Can anyone share their opinion? Thanks.

I totally loved my P7M8... I had to sell it to make ends meet ;1

When the financial situation is a little better, I hope to get another... they're just a joy to shoot!

I've always wanted one, but they just cost too darn much.

As highly valued as they are, why did they stop making them?

Production costs and demand didn't equal a profit on the balance sheet.

Oh...

I doubt I'll ever get one just because of the cost. If I'll spend that much on another gun it will be for another 1911...

Maybe they'll re-release the model 1 of these years :)

The P7 series is not cheap or easy to manufacture. HK was not selling enough to turn a decent profit. At least, that is my understanding. What a shame. Anyway, I'm glad I bought one finally.

Congrats bac! I have been thinking of getting one of late as well, like you said there is a small window before they are ridiculous. Its just one more thing my wife will try to kill me over.;)

bac,
congratulations, you've bought yourself a fine pistol. Now, get yourself on over to the Cult of the P7 (http://www.parkcitiestactical.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi) where they will officially induct you as one of our own...

Congrats!

I shot a P7M8 once, and it was amazingly accurate. Almost bought it used, but couldn't get the guy below $1000, so I passed. Wish I would have bought it now.

Enjoy it!

On the new Pea shooter - And welcome to The Cult of the P7

I like the M13 and hope to pick up a M8 Shooter in the next year or so - But I need to add some green to my wallet first.

Can't have just One :)

I agree -- they are just like potato chips....can't have just one.

I started last year with a German Border Patrol trade-in P7. It was so accurate, it surprised me. Here is a picture of the results of the first magazine of ammunition through the gun during my first shooting session with it. Plain and simple -- I was hooked!!

I still like carrying it the best. Then, I quickly bought a P7M13 (nice but bulky).

Recently, I came across a Chantilly P7M8 in mint condition, so it had to leave the gun show with me.

Now, SteveT was selling NIB P7M8 25th anniversary P7M8s (only 500 made) for $1399 over on parkcitiestactical.com -- so I saw that as an excellent opportunity to add an "investment" in the form of a consecutive serial numbered pair (with numbers below 100) to my collection. I can't wait for them to arrive on Friday!;z

I have had a P7M13 since about '89. I love it and its worth every penny I spent on it. The other half started to like it a little too much, so I came home w/ a P7M8 for her to use. I just need to find a P7M10 to round things out ;). A lot of people say they are over priced, but would think nothing of buying a "high class" 1911 that wouldn't shoot any better. Anyway I am sure you will love it.

Kudos on the P7! I love mine. It is a hardchromed jewel that rides in a Milt Sparks VM-2. Great shooter...especially for a lefty!
