Yep. He sure did. I always thought he was out there. Off into the deep end somewhere.
Still enjoy his material though.

Kind of like, oh, just as a mere example, Nick Hornby.
The guy claims to dislike Robert Zimmerman, yet he's got how many of his records? 3 dozen? I forget, its in "Songbook" though.
Of course, that part of Bob was the only part I read!

I think hes got good material. He's written some of my favorite songs. about a dozen of them. He's got some real horrible stuff.
Thats how it goes though.

There is always two sides to every story.

I just heard of his death yesterday, and wasn't too surprised. I mean, how long can you live the gonzo lifestyle?

I do agree that there is always another side to every story. I don't want to jump to a judgement about Mr. Thompson, as for all I know that lifestyle was pure fiction that he found easier to play along with than deny.

Still, RIP Hunter. You did bless(?) us with some pretty entertaining material.
