Any recommendations about listening to ham radios on the SSB of a shortwave radio? Best times? Best range of frequencies?

Here are a few places to look for info. Conditions are bad now because of the sunspot cycle but there is still plenty to listen to.

Man I need to read for comprehension. Just read the post again after I hit submit. If you want amateur radio try 7.15 - 7.3 LSB any time of the day. 14.15 - 14.35 is best for daytime.

I'd also mention 3750-4000 kHz and 1800-2000 kHz both LSB at night...

OOBuck, no, no, no, don't go kicking yourself. Your info is appreciated. It's what I'm looking for.

However, what is 'clandestine radio'? I mean, I think I have an idea, but can you elaborate?
Thanks.

From what I can tell, clandestine radio is operation of a station for propoganda reasons. Usually operated from undisclosed locations, clandestine stations are used to incite riots, overthrow governments, etc. Clandestine radio is very political at heart, wishing to bring about change, and ceasing operation shortly thereafter. YMMV.

Dont forget about the pirates, usually on 6925usb through 6975usb. Most activity will be at night.

I used to stay up most of the night and all day Saturday pulling in and logging those faraway broadcasts. Very time-consuming. Be careful, once you get addicted you will fill notebooks with your logs.

Thanks, guys. It's Saturday, so maybe tonight I'll start 'filling up' that notebook, or filling up my mind with that revolutionary insurrectionist propaganda;f
